How To Resolve WordPress Database Error Of WordPress Popular Posts
If you are a bloggers and using WordPress as your CMS then I bet you are using “WordPress Popular Posts” plugin. However, recently this plugin is causing some unexpected database error problems with some bloggers. And one of my friends who’s also a tech blogger like me witnessed this problem yesterday on his website – GuidePlease.com. He didn’t noticed it at first until I spotted the problems last night. He was able to resolved it and was able to bring back his articles on each pages of his blog site. So what’s actually the error caused by the WordPress Popular Posts plugin? A screenshot below is an example of the error that you are about to experience.
Almost each of Mairaj Pirzada’s post shows Wodpress database error like the one below:
WordPress database error: [Unknown column 'day_no_time' in 'field list']
INSERT INTO pirzadasworkwp_popularpostsdatacache (id, day, day_no_time)
VALUES (3482, '2012-09-01 16:09:12', '2012-09-01') ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE
pageviews = pageviews + 1, day = '2012-09-01 16:09:12', day_no_time = '2012-09-01';
So how to resolve this kind of problem, really? Well, one thing is for sure, there’s no coding involve here. The author of the plugin is already aware of the problem after some users highlighted this on WordPress forums. All you have to do is deactivate the WordPress Popular Posts plugin and activate it once again. Basically that’s it!
As I’ve said, the author Héctor Cabrera is already aware of the issue causing this unexpected WordPress database error and he promised to push another update probably in the coming days.
