T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II Ice Cream Sandwich Update On June 11
Last month, I posted an article that T-Mobile rolled out the latest Ice Cream Sandwich update for HTC Amaze 4G and now Samsung Galaxy S II will be receiving the Android Ice Cream Sandwich a few days from now. The report came straight from T-Mobile USA on their twitter account. The Samsung Galaxy S II Ice Cream Sandwich update will start on June 11 and will be available not via OTA but rather through Samsung Kies. And if you haven’t tried using Samsung Kies, you can check first my previous post on how to backup your Galaxy S II smartphone via Samsung Kies.
This is my Samsung Galaxy S II with Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich update. There are quite some goodies when you update your smartphone but along with it are some of the issues or problems. One good thing of course is the Face Unlock which became one of the most awaited features of Android 4.0 update. Also the home screen where it became more animated than before. There’s also the data bandwidth usage monitor and limiter. Another one noticeable feature is the speed and a pretty much responsive Galaxy S II. Of course, with the Ice Cream Sandwich update you can now use the Google Chrome for Android which only available for ICS smartphones and tablets.

Some of the downsides, it was really a good thing that there’s Firefox and Google Chrome web browsers because after updating my smartphone with the latest Android operating system my default SGSII web browser keeps on freezing and my screen goes back to Home. Some of the Android apps which were perfectly working on Gingerbread is exhibiting the same problem as with my browser. Although I am pretty sure that these will be taken care of in the next release or updates.
This is the tweet from @TMobile USA earlier this week about the update that they are going to release on June 11. So better prepare your USB cable, fully charge your smartphone and of course download the latest version of Samsung Kies for your computer before you take the plunge on the release date.
