WWDC 2012 Reportedly Apple Will Unveil iPhone 5

The iPhone 5, the next iPhone iteration from Apple where we’ll be expecting a “glass to glass” touch panel as described by a Chinese web-based online columnist quoting Daiwa Securities. Also according to the reports the next iPhone 5 will be unveiled on the next Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) 2012. The said event, WWDC, is held annually in Cupertino, California USA by Apple. And many spectators are more than excited and expecting the unveiling of iPhone 5 during the said event.  If we look back on the previous iPhone iterations unveiling, iPhone smartphones are exposed and discussed during the annual WWDC – that is during the regime of Steve Jobs. It was noticeable that on every iPhone iteration releases, Apple unveils it on the said event.  But all of that had changed during the release of iPhone 4S which was unveiled last 04th of October 2011 during the “Let’s Talk iPhone“ event held in Cupertino, California USA.  Probably this is Apple’s final tribute for the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs. But who knows, with Tim Cook’s management it might be possible that the next unveiling of iPhone 5 will be on the next WWDC event.

The next WWDC 2012 schedule above is from MacRumors.com. Although this is not yet official since Apple haven’t revealed yet as to when will be the official date, this schedule leaked and is more likely the most suitable dates for the event.  As expected, the closer we get to to this WWDC 2012 event the more rumors that we’ll surely get about iPhone 5.  It’s not because are so fanatic about Apple products, but somehow they all wanted to see how can it surpass its predecessors especially now that Steve Jobs is no longer with Apple.  We’ll all see how Tim Cook in action and if he can really “cook”.

So what do we know so far about iPhone 5?

What we all have is rumors and nothing concrete but who are we to tell whether the rumors from these sources are true or not?  Probably, some of them will become reality while some won’t but that’s what makes a product more exciting and probably worth the wait – especially if they are true.  So here are the rumored features so far we have for iPhone 5.

- Will be running on Quad-core processor
- 4G LTE ready for faster browsing experience
– Glass to glass touch panels
– Larger screen at 4 inches (larger than its predecessors)
– Coated with Liquipel (will make the device waterproofed)
– Aluminum casing
– Siri, yeah it will still be there
– iOS, I am not really certain if there will be a new version or just an upgrade of iOS 5

Above all, I do hope that Apple made some considerations on looking into some of the existing problems of iPhone 4S and its predecessors like the fast dropping battery usage with the current iOS and voice call issues (echoing and distortions). I have to admit that Apple have a great and working marketing strategy but I do hope that they should also know how to take care their end-users so that they won’t go away and shift to Android smartphones.
